Both 4th grade classes will be utilizing Class Dojo as our classroom management system. We had great success with this in the past, and would like to continue into this school year.
This is mostly run by the students and fosters accountability. For every subject, students will receive five points for meeting expectations. At least twice a day, students will then be asked if they should adjust their points for not meeting all expectations.
This is NOT a punishment!
Instead, it encourages our students to be responsible for their behavior and determine what course of action they need to take to earn all points for the next lesson.
The only points that are teacher-centered are for Step 1, 2 or 3. These are consequences for behaviors that disrupt the learning environment. If a student gets a Step 3, there will be a Reminder Slip that goes home as well.
